Homonymy The name may be considered a junior homonym of Helix edvardsi [sic] Bland, 1858 if edvardsi is considered a misspelling of edwardsi. Although Bland (1858: 279) explicitly named that species in honor of the collector, W.H. Edwards, and one may argue that the original spelling must be corrected according to ICZN Article 32.5.1, the spelling "edvardsi" may be considered a derivative of the Latinized version of Edwards, Edvardsius (since there is no w in Latin). As there is a one-letter difference, no homonymy exists (see ICZN Article 57.6). [details]
