Synonymy Sitnikova et al. (2012) published a picture of the holotype of L. auricularia var. persica. It is virtually identical to Lymnaeus tener Kuster, 1862 (both species share the same type location - Persia). Most probably, the two taxonomic names were applied to the same species.
