Taxonomic remark Type locality: Ilot Koutoumo south of Ile des Pins. Gassies recorded a single specimen ex Lambert. The specimen in NHM (NHM 1883.11.10.1163 ex coll. Gassies; Breure & Schouten 1985: 60) has dimensions (75.7 × 43.9 mm) matching well those given by Gassies (75 × 40 mm) and is here considered to represent the holotype. It is a teratological
specimen, and its allocation to f. guestieri is based on the size of the last whorl and the shape of the aperture (Fig. 23). [details]
