Taxonomy Bouchet & Guillemot (1978) have stated that the Atlantic forms of T. perversa ( Linnaeus , 1758) could be splited in 4 species. These species were grouped in the Triphora adversa complex. Until recently these 4 species were placed under the genus Triphora according to Bouchet (1984). Recent research (Bouchet, 1984) has shown that these 4 species are placed in different genera: Marshallora, Cheirodonta, Monophorus, Similiphora  [details]
