Homonymy Dall intended aelomitra as a new name for the Hawaiian Turris monilifera Pease, 1860, which he presumed was preoccupied by Pleurotoma monilifera Lea, 1833, an American Eocene species considered by Harris (1937) to be synonymous with Eopleurotoma sayi (Lea, 1833). Turris monilifera Pease, 1860, and Pleurotoma monilifera Lea, 1833, are neither primzary nor secondary homonyms, and Pease's name may stand. [details]
