Authority The name Venus bicolorata is often attributed to Dillwyn (1817), but was not established in Dillwyn's work. Deshayes (1835: 313) listed "Venus bicolorata [Chemn. Conch. t. 11 p. 223 pl. 201] figs 1965-1967" in the synonymy of Cytherea arabica Lamk. We have not traced any subsequent publication that would have made an available name. [details]
