Etymology Named for the junior British diplomat and explorer Augustus Raymond Margary (1846-1875) who, with his four Chinese personal staff, were killed in Tengyue, China by local Chinese on his return from Bhamo, Burma to Shanghai after not notifying the locals of his arrival. [details]
