Status Introduced as replacement name for Carychium costulatum Sandberger, 1862, non Hutton. Latter name however is a manuscript name that appeared only in Benson (1849) as Diplommatina costulata. Since both taxa are not considered to belong in the same genus, no secondary homonymy exists and Carychiopsis schwageri hochheimensis is a junior objective synonym of Carychiopsina costulata. Moreover, Bourguignat (1864) had already introduced Carychium eurabdium as replacement name, which is another junior objective synonym. [details]
