Coralliophila galea feed on Agaricia humilis
Coralliophila galea feed on Agaricia humilis
Description The photo was taken on 19th of January, 2015 on the reef in front of the Carmabi Institute on Curaçao at a depth of 5.6 m. On the photo you see a cluster of Coralliophila galea snails on a small Agaricia humilis coral colony (in total I collected 8 snails of that colony, with a shell length ranging from 5.6 to 12.4 mm, to give you an idea of the scale). One of the snails has its proboscis extended, which it uses to feed on the coral polyps.
