Homonymy Treated by Brot (1862) as a secondary junior homonym of Melania cumingii I. Lea & H.C. Lea, 1851; M. renovata Brot, 1862 is a replacement name. That substitute name is not in use and the relevant taxa are no longer considered congeneric. Under ICZN (1999) Article 59.3, the junior homonym is not to be rejected. [details]
