Present  Inaccurate  Introduced: alien  Containing type locality

From editor or global species database
Type locality Laval-Saint-Roman, Gard, France; middle Priabonian or early Rupelian, late Eocene or early Oligocene [details]

Validity Not available from Fontannes (1884), who explicitly introduced the taxon as subvariety of a variety, which makes the name infrasubspecific and therefore not available as species-group name according to the Code (Art. 10.2). Cossmann (1909) listed the name as variety but without clearly referring to a previous publication, description or illustration, making the name a nomen nudum in that publication.
The name became available from Wenz (1929), who listed the name as subspecies and referrred to the description and illustration of Fontannes (1884). Following Art. 10.2, this makes Wenz (1929) the author of the taxon. [details]
