Present Inaccurate Introduced: alien Containing type locality
From editor or global species database
Spelling Fuchs (1870) used two spellings, unioides (plate caption) and unoides (heading of species description). Since Fuchs intended the species name as a reference to the similarly shaped unionid bivalves, the correct spelling must be unioides, while unoides is an inadvertent error. The name unionides (as used e.g. by Harzhauser & Mandic 2010) is an incorrect subsequent spelling. [details] Type locality Tihany, Hungary; Transdanubian, Pannonian, late Miocene [details]
