Nomenclature Reeve (pl. 6, sp. 26) listed Kiener's species illustrating a specimen of T. bacillum Kiener, 1843 rather than the finely striated species Kiener lists (holotype of which has not yet been examined). Reeve's specimen is preserved at NHMUK, General collection, and is a specimen of bacillum.
Dautzenberg & Fischer argued that the species figured by Reeve as crocea was different from Reeve's figure of that species AND of bacillum, as such unnecessarily attributing the replacement name reevei to Reeve's listing of crocea [details]
