Type specimen 1 specimen NHMUK 1877.5.12.31; no type status as per 24/04/2014. Examinations of the specimen during the WoRMS LifeWatch Turritellidae project have revealed that this specimen is indeed the holotype. Measurements: 8,9 mm x 2 mm
This species is often referred to as Turritella cingulifera G. B. Sowerby I, 1825, of which it probably is a young specimen (also see Tryon, 1886:198) of the female gender, or a fragment thereof. [details]
