Note When he established Exolaternula, Habe stated...
Type species When he established Exolaternula, Habe stated the type species to be Anatina truncata Lamarck, 1818; the latter is a subjective synonym of Cochlodesma praetenue (Pulteney, 1799) [a European species of the family Periplomatidae], but Habe used it in the sense of Exolaternula spengleri [Solen spengleri Gmelin, 1791]. The name Exolaternula is thus based on a misidentified type species, and a type species should be fixed under Art. 70.3. [details]
