Grammatical gender "Domus" is a feminine fourth declension noun in Latin, so Thelidomus is feminine. [details]
Nomenclature Swainson (p. 228, 353) also used Thelidomus for a the larva of a Trichoptera. Herrmannsen [1849, Indicis generum malacozoorum primordia, 2: 571] acted as First Reviser and restricted Thelidomus to the insect larva, thus making the gastropod name invalid; Herrmannsen also treated the gastropod Thelidomus as "err. typ. pro Thelidonta" (see that name). Despite Herrmannsen's nomenclatural actions, the name Thelidomus is in current use. [details]
