Nomenclature Patera is currently treated as an accepted genus although it is preoccupied by Patera Lesson (Cnidaria; a name not currently in use) and although Odotropis is its senior objective synonym. It is likely that Patera Albers meets the conditions of Art. 23.9 to be declared a nomen protectum, and Odotropis and Patera Lesson to be declared nomina oblita. [details]
