Mind the Gap!

Added on 2025-09-26 16:32:49 by Vos, Chris
A new MolluscaBase editor has recently joined the team aiming to fill (a part of) the gap for fossil Cephalopoda.
Whilst adding names of fossil organisms is advancing steadily along with other additions and improvements, fossil Cephalopoda remained a non-negligeable gap in the MolluscaBase database.

This, however, is about to change, as a new editor for fossil Cephalopoda - Dr. Alexander Pohle - has joined our editor-team.

Alex is a postdoc at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, interested in the evolution and paleobiology of fossil cephalopods. He completed his PhD at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, where he developed his interest in taxonomy. He has worked on a range of fossil groups, including Cambrian plectronoceratids, Palaeozoic and Triassic orthoceratoids and Mesozoic belemnites, with a particular interest in deciphering evolutionary relationships.

We welcome Alex with open arms and look forward to seeing his contributions help tighten the remaining gaps in MolluscaBase!

On behalf of the MolluscaBase editor community,
