Following the paper by Friedel et al. (2026) and with the appreciated assistance of the Data Management Team (DMT) in Ostend, Belgium, all information on Palaeozoic parallelodontid bivalves (Parallelodontidae, Arcida) has now been recorded in MolluscaBase.

It concerns a total of 16 genera and 247 species-group names, along with taxonomic information, distribution data, type material, fossil ranges, and sources.

This completes the inventory for this family for the Palaeozoic era. Although the Mesozoic and Cenozoic still require much attention, it is a solid step forward in our efforts to complete the fossil component of molluscan diversity in MolluscaBase as fast and as good as we can.
