Nomenclature Georissa japonica Pilsbry, 1900 and Georissa japonica Möllendorff, 1901 are junior synonyms of Georissa japonica (E. von Martens, 1886) (originally described as Hydrocena). Therefore, the first synonym must be used. However, the identity of Georissa japonica (E. von Martens, 1886) is not clear, because it seems that nobody used that names since its original description.
