Classification New combination herein. Glaubrecht et al. (2009) treated Melasma onca as accepted species, but the inclusion in Melasma is not tenable as the latter is a synonym of the North American pleurocerid Elimia. This species is here indexed as member of Sermyla following Iredale's (1943) placement in Sermylasma (synonym of Sermyla) for lack of a better solution, although Glaubrecht et al. (2009) explicitly rejected an inclusion of M. onca in Sermyla[details]
