Taxonomic remark Name established without description, but with reference to the names Helix aurisbovina Férussac, Auricula bovina
“Lamarck” and Voluta aurismalchi “Gmelin”. The specific epithet bootis is an unjustified emendation of aurisbovina (both meaning “ox ear”, the first from Greek, the second from Latin) and Bulimus bootis is thus, based on the neotype designations above, also an objective synonym of Limax fibratus. Neubert et al. 2009: 53 [details]
