Note Steenberg fixed Pupa orientalis L. Pfeiffer,...  
Type species Steenberg fixed Pupa orientalis L. Pfeiffer, 1861, as the type species by original designation. However, Hausdorf [1996, Archiv für Molluskenkunde, 125(1-2): 11] argued that Steenberg had misidentified the type species, and that Pupa libanotica Tristram, 1865, was meant. Under Art. 70b of the 3rd edition of the Code then in force, Hausdorf suggested the case should have been refered to the ICZN for a ruling. Welter-Schultes (2012) fixed the type species under Art. 70.3 of the 4th edition. [details]
