Authority There has been a debate over the authorship of this taxon, with some authors (e.g. Welter-Schultes, 2012) arguing for Ehrmann (1933) as the true author. MolluscaBase follows the opinion of Adler (1993), who designated the lectotype for this taxon and fixed Favre, 1927 as the author of it. [details]

Authority Favre (1927) has usually been considered the author of this taxon (e.g. Korniushin, 1996; Vinarski & Kantor, 2016). Welter-Schultes [2012] grants the authorship of this name to Ehrmann [1933], whereas Piechocki [1989] to Schlesch, 1947. According to Welter-Schultes, "The style of the work suggests that Favre regarded the term pseudo-sphaerium not as a name for separate taxa, but to describe a certain Sphaerium-like form of shells". [details]
