From editor or global species database
Nomenclature Huber (2010) treated Chama aculeata Poli, 1795, as a junior homonym of Chama aculeata Ström, 1768, and used Chama elegans Réquien, 1848, as the next available name to designate the species generally called Cardita aculeata (Poli, 1795). However, the name Chama aculeata Ström, 1768 (a junior subjective synonym of Hiatella arctica Linnaeus, 1758) has been declared "nomen oblitum", and Chama aculeata Poli, 1795 "nomen protectum" by Cosel et al.
