Nomenclature Solem (1966) employed the name Semisulcospira paludiformis Yen, 1939 described from Hainan for a species from Thailand and proposed placement in Paracrostoma. However, the Thai species is distinct from the one described from Hainan. Hence, the species epithet paludiformis has been used in error. Consequently, Solem (1966) becomes the author of the new name Paracrostoma paludiformis. [details]
