Authority Specific name turtoni introduced in a footnote of the paper signed "Editors" (i.e. Thomas Bell, John George Children, James De Carle Sowerby and G. B. Sowerby I); the name is usually attributed to G.B. Sowerby I. There are several papers addressing this question and a comprehensive discussion in R.E. Petit (2009: Zootaxa, 2189: 197) who is followed here. [details]Type locality not stated [Great Britain] [details]
