Unreviewed
Dimensions maximum size of 6 mm  [details]

Distribution Less frequently the north and west coasts of France
On suitable weed-covered shores on all British and Irish coasts [details]

Distribution Arctic Ocean to Rhode Island; Alaska to California [details]

Habitat intertidal, infralittoral and circalittoral of the Gulf and estuary [details]

Synonymy Some authors such as Ankel (1936), Thorson (1941), Ziegelmeier (1966), Stresemann (1970), Hubendick & Waren (1969-76) and Sneli (1974, 1979) prefer the name Trochus divaricatus Fabricius, 1780 above Lacuna vincta (Montagu, 1803). Trochus divaricatus Fabricius, 1780 is however a primary junior homonym of Trochus divaricatus Linnaeus, 1758. For this reason Fabricius' name could not be used and Turbo vinctus Montagu, 1803 gets priority. [details]

Taxonomy There is still some discussion about the interspecific differences between Lacuna vincta (Montagu, 1803) and Lacuna crassior (Montagu, 1803). [details]
