Taxonomy The inclusion of this species in the genus Limea Bronn, 1831 follows Nordsieck (1969) and was taken on to the catalogue of Mediterranean mollusca of Sabelli et al. (1991) and from there to earlier versions of CLEMAM and ERMS databases. It is not justified, as Limea should include only species with a denticulate hinge line whereas loscombi has a smooth hinge line as in Limaria. Misspellings are loscombii andloscombei [details]
