Taxonomy This species has been placed in synonymy of Peracle diversa (Monterosato, 1875) by Tesch (1946: 33) and van der Spoel (1976: 30) and this was reflected in WoRMS database until may 2011. This wiew was disputed by Giovine (1988) and by Gaglini & Villari (1994) who figured syntypes of P. diversa and concluded that they were identical to P. apicifulva Meisenheimer, 1906, not to P. bispinosa [details]
