Synonymy Already Andrusov (1905) discussed the possibility that Congeria pseudorostriformis Sinzov, 1896 and C. navicula Andrusov, 1897 are synonymous. Macarovici (1940) listed pseudorostriformis as variety of navicula. Babak (1983) synoymized pseudorostriformis with navicula. Following that, Nevesskaja et al. (1997) only listed navicula (as subspecies of C. amygdaloides (Dunker, 1851). However, Sinzov's description appeared before Andrusov's, which would make navicula a synonym of pseudorostriformis. Following Nevesskaja et al., pseudorostriformis is ranked as subspecies of amygdaloides. [details]Type locality "Kongerievye peskii Bolgrad" [Congeria sands at Bolgrad] (Ukraine) [details]
