New combination New combination herein. Dillon described Pleurocera shenandoa from a “genetically distinct” (based on allozyme data) lineage of something previously recognized as Elimia semicarinata. He placed it in Pleurocera based on his synonymizing Elimia with Pleurocera (Dillon, 2011, Malacologia 53(2): 265-277). This synonymy is not recognized here and Pleurocera shenandoa is accordingly reclassified in Elimia based on the advice of E. Strong (pers. com.). [details]
