Validity Name not found in the literature, probably an error pro Bithinia mengyinensis Grabau, 1923, which Grabau (1923, p. 147) listed next to Valvata suturalis Grabau, 1923. A confusion with Valvata menyinensis Yen, 1969 is less likely, considering the different spelling and the fact that Kobayashi (1983) attributed the authority clearly to Grabau. Also, Yen's species derives from much younger (probably Oligocene) strata, although Yen (1969) considered them Cretaceous in age (as are Grabau's species). [details]
