Synonymy Gu & Ma (in Ma et al. 1976) referred Paranodonta khoratensis Kobayashi, 1963 to their new genus Yunnanoconcha. They considered Unio sampanoides Kobayashi, 1968 a junior synonym of that species, but according to Kobayashi (1984) the two are easily distinguishable by the shape of the ventral margin and should be considered distinct species in Yunnanoconcha[details]
