Synonymy It is unclear why so many authors prefer the name Trochus clelandi W. Wood, 1828 above the senior T. miliaris Brocchi, 1814. By checking the original description and figures of Brocchi, there seems to be no doubt that T. miliaris probably should be prefered (like in Thorson, 1941 and Sneli, 1974, 1979). Pending the opinion of other authors Trochus clelandi will still be used. [details]
