Editor's comment Hedley (1897) mistakenly believed the type locality to be Lord Howe Island (Australia), but the type locality is situated in the Solomon Islands instead. Based on the fact that Hedley considered this locality to be erroneous, he synonymized this species with "Endodonta costulifera" from New Caledonia. However, if the type locality was not mistaken, then this act is probably incorrect. [details]
