Nomenclature Replacement name for Pecten subgrandis Glibert, 1957, non Brives, 1897. That name was introduced as a replacement name for Pecten grandis Sowerby, 1828, which Glibert believed to be preoccupied by P. grandis (Solander). However, Ostrea grandis Solander, 1786 was published without description or reference to a recognizable figure or other clear indication and is therefore a nomen nudum. [details]
