Status Hind (1895) synonymized Naiadites angulatus Dawson, 1860 with Carbonicola angulata (de Ryckholt, 1851). Rogers (1965) pointed out that these are different species and stated that de Ryckholt's name "should probably be suppressed." Since both names were originally described in different genera and the de Ryckholt's name is considered a taxon of uncertain attribution, there is no homonymy issue. [details]
