Original description Authority uncertain. Not available from Forbes (1853), who is usually cited as author, but did not deliver a valid described ("large bivalve"). Bailey (1861) illustrated the shell and might qualify as next-in-line, but currently the history of the taxon is not researched in detail. [details]
