Note LaRocque & Newell (1969, in Moore, ed....
Type species LaRocque & Newell (1969, in Moore, ed. Treatise on invertebrate paleontology, N1: 397) stated the type species to be by OD, but Hall included 11 nominal species, several of which where nomina nuda, but more than one were designated by an available name. Stoliczka [1871, Cretaceous fauna of southern India, 3: 387] fixed Megambonia suborbicularis Hall, 1859, as type, but this was a nomen nudum when Hall established the genus and Stoliczka's action is invalid. [details]
