New combination Combination not found in the literature, established herein. The widely used name of this species, Scythentolium tirolicum (Wittenburg, 1908), is a junior homonym of Pecten (Leptochondria) tirolicus Bittner, 1895. Wilckens (1909) had actually introduced Pecten (Aequipecten) H. Philippi [sic] as replacement name, but Allasinaz (1972) considered that, since both taxa are now in different genera, Wittenburg's original name can be restored. However, the ICZN clearly regards primary homonyms as permanently invalid - the correct name is Pecten hphilippi. [details]
