Original description Defrance (1826) referred the species to Brongniart, "Min. des env. de Paris, pl. 3, fig. 9" (probably Cuvier & Brongniart, 1811, Essai sur la géographie minéralogique des environs de Paris), but there is no pl. 3 in that work or any mention of the species. It could not be found in any other of Brongniart's works either. Defrance gave a description and made the name available. [details]
