Status According to Hodges (2017), the material figured by Dunker (1846, which is supposedly the material Dunker 1844 had at hand for the short diagnosis) is synonym of two species, Cardinia nilssoni (Koch & Dunker, 1837) and Cardinia gigantea (Quenstedt, 1856). Note however that the latter species was published later. Nomenclatural revision required! [details]
