Etymology From Pantagruel, son of the giant Gargantua in the French writer François Rabelais’ novel series The Five Books of the Lives and Deeds of Gargantua and Pantagruel (Les Cinq livres des faits et dits de Gargantua et Pantagruel) (Rabelais 1534). This species is the largest of all known Lirapex species, hence the name of a giant is fitting. Used as a noun in apposition. [details]
