Status Dall (1898) introduced Leda peltella for a shell from the Oligocene of Bowden (Jamaica) and as a replacement name for Leda acuta Gabb, 1873, non Conrad, 1832. Pilsbry & Johnson (1917) considered the two as different, restricted Dall's name to the Bowden shell, and introduced Leda extricata for Gabb's homonym. [details]
