Taxonomy While this is a very homogeneous subgenus, the some smallest members of the subgenus such as L. (I. ) delessertiana and L. (I.) tulearensis show a definite tendency towards the Mitraelyria. We are convinced, however, that they emerge from and still belong in the Indolyria. The large protoconch, size, sculpture and very homogenous shapes distinguish this subgenus at once. [details]

Diagnosis Protoconch very large, thick shells. Axial ribs wavy and spaced. Occasionally with an axial sculpture between the ribs. Spire most often very high compared to the body whorl. [details]Etymology after the range of the known species. [details]
Taxonomy While this is a very homogeneous subgenus, the some smallest members of the subgenus such as L. (I. ) delessertiana and L. (I.) tulearensis show a definite tendency towards the Mitraelyria.
