Type species Medinskaya & Sysoev initially designated Xenuroturris cerithiformis Powell, 1967, as type species of Iotyrris. Later, Sysoev (2002, Ruthenica, 12(2): 169) recognised that the type species had been misidentified and, under Art. 70.3, he fixed Iotyrris marquesensis as type. [details]
