Nototeuthis dimegacotyle gen. et sp. n. characterized by presence of two enormous suckers on the tentacle club is described by a single immature male with the mantle length 48.5 mm; the specimen was collected by R/V «Akademik Kurchatov» in the south-eastern part of the Pacific Ocean west of Southern Chile (tow from 500 to 0 m). The species is presumably a notalian mesopelagic or meso-bathypelagic one.
