Validity Bucquoy, Dautzenberg & Dollfus (1884:226) based the description on specimens which show light uncoiling of the last whorls (gerontism) - a feature observed in many species of Turritellidae. As such these are considered as monstrosities, which makes that the name is not available under Art. 1.3.2. [details]
