Type material 1 sample marked "type" NHMUK Type collection, reg. no. 1919.12.31.18 as per 24/04/2014. After examination of all relevant data, it is concluded that this specimen is indeed the holotype.
The holotype - measuring 26,65 mm x 6,25 mm - is a large specimen of the species referred to as Turritella cingulifera G. B. Sowerby I, 1825. The synonymy is herewith confirmed. [details]
